Our last full day in South Africa!
Well, the three weeks has just flown by and we cant belive that we are flying home tommorow!
On Saturday we climbed Table Mountain!!! It was so hard and at times we wanted to give up but we got to the top in the end, which made it worth it. It was like rock climbing at times, toned our leg muscles though!!
On Sunday we lead a Churches Sunday school, which was really good. Yesterday we went to a school to help with a feeding scheme and then we went to a farm, where a number of very poor families live. We just spent some time hanging out with the children and chucking balls around. They loved the bubbles that were given to them! It was quite an emotional experience as i think this was the poorest area we have seen here in South Africa.
We then went to to a Children's hospital and spent some time doing oragami with the girls. It was so nice to be able to do this as some of the girls have been there for years!
Today we are going back to the hospital and to a Children's home called SOS.
Our flight is at 7pm tommorow and we will arrive into heathrow at about 6am!!
Looking forward to seeing you soon.
Love, Team Cape Town.

Tea bags
Hi from Neil, S Africa is an amazing place but the tea situation is a problem. We have been blessed to find Twinings english breakfast tea in the shops. I now have a nice room after sleeping rough in the sticks for so long. MMMMM.
The girls are treating me well especially Lizzie (do I pass grade 6 of my gentlemens exam now Lizzie????). We cannot believe it is near the end of the trip but God has taught us so much and we are blessed. :-)

hello from ro.
this morning- (we are staying in the pinelands house) we left at 8:30 (impressed by the fact we were on time lol) driving in our wonderfull venture mobeel and then.... andre' said sumit- pulled up on the curb and declared us a flat tyre! so standing on the side of the road- looking at the main road on which we were just about to pullout on to before the finding and thanking God this didnt happen yesterday since we drove over 4 hours through the mountains and so that would have been bad. the tyre was flat but also the middle mettle bit wa no longer fully attached to the rubber bit. we rung some peeps and waited for assistance (note that it was only when the two guys in the group walked up to the road- away from the car and the girls- leaving us looking like we were the ones in trouble- that some men drove up to help !!!) ha!! :-)
any who- it got fixed and we got to the office safe and sound- we had a gathering of teams-people from the uk- usa- german and south african. worship was mint and the guy leading stuff (the talk) really gave us soem challenging stuff to think about and to work on- about giftings and clashes with others with different giftings and christians getting on and all that... hard hitting stuff.
this afrenoon we are going prezzy buying in the market and tomorrow is table mountain hopefully.
thanks for your prayers and support.
please write back- our comment list is kinda empty :-)
go on you know you want to

Yo from Lizzie!
Hey everyone!
Wow, what an experience it has been so far! I have seen so much and had so many amazing experiences that I will never forget. I wont even attempt to explain on here, but i really look forward to being able to tell you all about it face to face.
God is doing some great stuff in me and the team, and also in the mission work we are doing. I think we are all feeling overwhelmed and challenged but everything is good! Because God is good! Amen!
Lots of love
Lizzie (aka laughing Lizzie)

Back to civilisation (internet access!)
Hello!
Sorry we havnt posted a message in ages! We have been in Kylemore (which is a rural village) and a children's home and so we havnt had internet access. We have been doing some amazing stuff, including house visitations, devotions and lessons in the High school, sessions with the Kindergarten and youth groups. It is hard to describe how amazing God has been and all the fantastic stuff God has done in a message. But, we all look forward to telling you our experiences when we get home in less than a week!
Today we are going to a different house for the last week, which is in a residential area, to do some hospital visits and some work in an orphanage (and also do some site seeing, like going up Table Mountain).
We have got to get going now, but we will try to post some photos and some more info tommorow!
Thank you for your prayer and support. Please leave us messages, some of us are feeling homesick!! lol.
Love,
Team Cape Town.

over seas and behind bars
day 3 of our capetown diary.
yesterday we left quiet early to catch the boat over to robben island (where Nelson Mandella was held in prison) getting over there was a bit of an experience- not for the weak stomache (as we found out as one of our team was sick). the rest of us conquered the art of standing up. :-)
once we arrived we jumped on to a tour bus with a number of other people and were took round the island, to the quarry where the prisoners did hard labour. we were taken around the high security prison and told about times when the prison guards made crimianals beat up other prisoners and how the partide affected how different people were treated. it was pretty hard hitting thinking that what we were being told only happened 20 years ago!
tomorrow we are going to a rural area called kylemore. we are staying there for a week, going to their church and working in the local community.
Watch out for our next update.
lots of love from the Cape town team
p.s.
sarah- thankyou for praying love lizzie xx
claire- yes we can see table mountain. we can see it all the time where ever we go. (our team house is right by the sea and you can see it from our front room!) hug hugs. love from ro xo

We have arrived!
Hello from Cape Town!
We arrived safe and sound yesterday morning and got stuck in straight away by going to a Children's village called SOS. There we played lots of games with the young people and the children loved to be picked up and cuddled! It was a really amazing experience and i think we were all a bit overwhelmed by it! Yesterday evening we went to Rolf (centre director) and Lizzys house for as wonderful meal.
We then went back to the volunteers house in Blouberg and got a well earned sleep! This morning we have been in a primary school serving food and playing with them in the playgroud. Lucy gave the children some balls and they were suprised by it and kept on wanting to give them back! Again, this was such an amazing experience and one that we were all touched by.
We are now at the YFC office and tonight we are going to celebrate Lucy's Birthday!!
Tomorrow we are going to Robben Island, which is where Mandela was imprissoned.
Watch out for our next update!
God bless.

I don't think it had sunk in yet....
I'm not sure if the fact that we are really going to South Africa, has sunk in yet.... I'm excited.... but for some reason I'm not that scared yet and normally I am.
I think it is simply because I have such a great team going with me and I feel as if I'm going with a family.... that sounds mad but my team are great! And thats the truth.
Can't wait too see you all in what..... 11 hours and 40 mins......
Love from Lucy x x x x
